Aquaventure World Dubai: My Birthday Experience and Total Cost in September 2026

Poseidon Tower in Aquaventure World in Dubai

For my birthday this year, my boyfriend asked me what I wanted to do. I gave him a list of options, including Banya Forest, an authentic Russian wellness experience in Dubai. However, the weekend entry fee alone was around AED 450 per person for a 3-hour session. After experiencing traditional banyas in Almaty, Bishkek, and more recently Termoland in Moscow, I felt that price was a bit too haram. ๐Ÿ˜…

In the end, we decided to spend the day at Aquaventure World in Dubai instead. Plus, birthday celebrants get free entry within 7 days before or after their birthday. So, what's not to like?

This wasn't my first visit to Aquaventure World though. In fact, it was my second birthday celebration here. After spending nearly a full day riding slides, floating down rivers, and walking far more steps than expected, I realized it was worth sharing this experience, especially since we left feeling that we had made the right choice.

How Much We Spent at Aquaventure World Dubai

ItemCost (AED)
1 Birthday Offer Ticket + 1 Accompanying Non-Resident Adult TicketAED 268.00
LockerAED 60.00
Transportation (Taxi + Monorail + Metro + Tram)AED 108.50
Food & Drinks AED 220.00
Waterproof Phone Pouches (2 pcs)AED 198.00
TotalAED 854.50

We spent a total of AED 854.50 for two people, including tickets, transportation, lockers, food, and a few extra purchases during the day.

If you're looking to reduce costs, here are three easy ways:

  • Waterproof Phone Pouch: We paid AED 99 each at the official store because we didn't buy them in advance. Order one from Amazon or Noon beforehand and save yourself a lot of money.
  • Locker: We paid AED 60 for peace of mind, but many visitors simply left their belongings on the sunbeds without any issues.
  • Food & Drinks: This was our second biggest expense after tickets. You can spend less depending on what you order, but personally, this is not where I would cut costs. You're already paying for a premium attraction, so you might as well enjoy the experience.

Overall, Aquaventure wasn't a cheap day out, but considering we spent nearly the entire day there, enjoyed multiple attractions, and celebrated my birthday together, we felt it offered good value for the money spent.

Staying at Atlantis?

If you're planning a stay at Atlantis The Palm or Atlantis The Royal, check the room rates before purchasing separate Aquaventure tickets. Hotel guests receive complimentary access to Aquaventure during their stay, which can offer better value depending on your travel dates.

Compare Atlantis room rates below and check whether complimentary Aquaventure access makes more sense than buying separate tickets.

Getting There By Public Transportation

For those without a car, like us, Aquaventure World is still surprisingly easy to reach using public transportation. During our visit, we actually tried both options: taking a taxi on the way there and using the Metro, Tram, and Monorail combination on the way back.

Option 1: Taxi/Careem/Uber

To maximize our time inside the park, we decided to take a taxi directly to Aquaventure in the morning. Since we wanted to arrive as early as possible and beat the queues, we didn't want to spend extra time commuting.

From Al Furjan, the journey took around 25 minutes and cost us AED 62.50. It was fast, comfortable, and definitely worth it considering we planned to spend the entire day at the waterpark.

If you're staying elsewhere in Dubai and want to save a bit of money, another option is to take the Metro to Dubai Internet City Metro Station, then continue by taxi to Atlantis The Palm from there.

Option 2: Metro + Tram + Monorail Combination

Since we weren't in a hurry after spending the entire day at Aquaventure, we decided to take public transportation on the way back.

Aquaventure has its own monorail station called Atlantis Aquaventure Station, which connects directly to The Palm Gateway Station. You can either purchase a ticket at the station or use your Nol Card, provided you have sufficient balance. We used our Nol Cards and paid AED 20 per person for a one-way journey.

From The Palm Gateway, follow the signs to the tram and walk to Palm Jumeirah Tram Station. From there, take the Dubai Tram to Dubai Marina Tram Station, then transfer to the Dubai Metro at Sobha Realty Station.

While this is the cheapest way to travel to and from Aquaventure, it does require multiple transfers and quite a bit of walking. And it's something you may not have anymore after spending an entire day climbing stairs, carrying floats, and running between attractions.

If you're exhausted by the end of the day, a good compromise is to take a taxi to Dubai Internet City Metro Station and continue your journey by Metro from there.

Our Experience at Aquaventure World Dubai

One piece of advice we kept seeing before our visit was to arrive early. Thankfully, we listened.

After collecting our Aquabands and buying our waterproof phone pouches, we headed straight towards Trident Tower.

Since the park had only recently opened, the queues were still short. We managed to ride Medusa's Lair and Shockwave twice before the crowds started building up. I also tried Hydra Racer, which has a fun competitive racing element. It was definitely one of the highlights of our morning.

By the time we moved towards Poseidon Tower, we felt the change in the atmosphere. More visitors had arrived, the walkways were busier, and the queues were starting to get longer.

We only managed to do Aquaconda, which ended up being one of the more thrilling attractions we tried. Around this time, I also realized that my appetite for thrill rides isn't quite the same as before. During my first Aquaventure visit back in 2015, I did Leap of Faith by myself without much hesitation. This time, I found myself enjoying the overall experience more than chasing the biggest adrenaline rush.

My boyfriend was also still getting used to waterpark rides, so we naturally gravitated towards exciting attractions without being completely terrifying.

Around noon, we reached Neptune Tower, and this was when the queues became significantly longer.

We managed to ride The Storm and Plunge, which share the same queue, after waiting for around 30 minutes. We then headed to Shark Attack, which had a similar wait time. While Shark Attack wasn't bad, my boyfriend felt it was slightly overrated compared to the other attractions we tried.

If there's one lesson from our visit, it's this: arrive as early as possible.

The difference between queue times in the morning and at noon was massive. Standing in line for extended periods not only felt draining but also took away some of the excitement and momentum of the day.

Once we started running low on energy, we shifted our focus to our favorite attraction: Raging River.

There's something incredibly fun about floating through rapids and waves while wearing a life jacket. It struck a nice balance between excitement and relaxation, without constantly anticipating the next big drop.

We also enjoyed Raging Rapids, although we only realized later that we hadn't actually completed the entire course and that the attraction was longer than we thought.

By the end of the day, we were tired, sun-kissed, and ready to head home. We decided to leave a little earlier to avoid the closing-time crowds, especially since the shower facilities are relatively limited compared to the size of the park.

But perhaps the most important thing was this: even though we didn't manage to try every ride, we left happy. And for a birthday celebration, what more could I ask for?

Facilities and Food

In this part, let me share some practical information that could make your overall experience smoother and more enjoyable.

Lockers

First things first: the lockers.

There are two locker locations inside Aquaventure โ€” Poseidon's Village near the entrance and Atlas Village further inside the park.

We rented a small locker for AED 60.00, and it was enough for our two backpacks. Before paying, we asked several staff members for advice, and they all confirmed that the small size would be sufficient.

If you're visiting with a larger group or carrying more belongings, you may want to upgrade to a bigger locker. We also noticed many guests simply left their bags on the sunbeds, which seemed to work fine for them.

Personally, we preferred the peace of mind of having a locker for our phones, wallets, and spare clothes. Either way, I wouldn't recommend bringing expensive jewelry, large amounts of cash, or other valuables to a waterpark.

Free Aqua Socks

One thing I heard from my colleague before visiting was that Aquaventure provides free aqua socks.

You can wear your own flip-flops around the park, but some rides, such as Hydra Racer, require you to leave them behind before heading up the stairs. Since the ground can get quite hot, the staff advised me to head to the nearest Guest Services kiosk and ask for a pair. And boy, they're comfortable, practical, and completely free!

Drinking Water

With all the swimming, splashing, and occasional accidental swallowing of pool water, it's easy to forget to stay hydrated.

Fortunately, there are drinking water dispensers throughout the park. I brought a reusable water bottle, but we left it inside our locker and quickly realized it was a hassle to keep going back for it.

Looking back, I probably didn't need to bring one at all. We simply drank directly from the dispensers whenever we passed by!

Buggy Express

Another practical tip: use the Buggy Express.

Aquaventure is much bigger than it looks, and you'll already spend plenty of energy climbing stairs, carrying tubes, and waiting in queues. We used the complimentary buggy several times throughout the day and still ended up walking more than expected.

Save your energy for the rides. You'll thank yourself later!

Food and Drinks

Food was probably the thing I was most curious about before our visit, mainly because I couldn't find any information from recent travelers discussing actual prices inside the park.

Besides the usual waterpark staples like burgers, fries, pizza, and soft drinks, we found additional options during our visit such as Starbucks, Hรคagen-Dazs, Cali Poke (cold sushi bowls and acai), Yogugu (ice cream, waffles, and milkshakes), and Pizza Cone.

By lunchtime, we were hungry enough to eat almost anything, so we ended up ordering from Pizza Cone.

Our meal cost around AED 150.00 for two people. Based on what we saw, most meals ranged between AED 50.00 and AED 85.00 per person, depending on the restaurant and what you order.

We also bought a snow cone (which I was too excited to eat instead of taking a photo) for AED 40.00 and a can of 7UP for AED 30.00.

As a budget traveler, the prices absolutely hurt. ๐Ÿ˜…

But after hours of rides, stairs, and September humidity, the food felt well-earned, and we didn't regret the splurge. By the end of the day, we were too busy enjoying ourselves to keep calculating every dirham spent.

Was Aquaventure Worth It?

Looking purely at the numbers, Aquaventure wasn't cheap.

Between the food, lockers, transportation, and a few unnecessary purchases along the way, we spent AED 854.50 for two people.

But travel experiences aren't always about finding the cheapest option.

When I compare it to our original plan of spending AED 450 per person for a three-hour session at Banya Forest, I honestly think Aquaventure gave us far more happiness per dirham, if that's even a term. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We spent nearly the entire day there, repeated some of our favorite rides, reignited the child version inside our adult bodies, and left feeling that we had made the right decision.

And really, that's probably the best measure of whether an experience is worth it!

So whether you're visiting for the first time, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for a full day of fun in Dubai, I would absolutely recommend Aquaventure. Just arrive early, bring a waterproof phone pouch from outside, and prepare for a lot more walking than you expect, and you'll be good to go!
