As per IATA, Philippine Passport Holders can obtain either an E-Visa or a Visa On Arrival (only through Manas International Airport) in Kyrgyzstan. After visiting 4 times already, I always apply for the e-visa to avoid queuing at the airport. If you're planning to visit Kyrgyzstan and would like to apply for one, you're on the right track. Let me guide you on how to apply for your Kyrgyzstan e-visa online!

As of January 2025, Kyrgyzstan has introduced a new Visa Category named Sapar Visa - Type J, to combine the previous visa types, namely Tourist, Business, and Mountain Visas.

Kyrgyzstan E-Visa Cost

As of July 2025, the single-entry Sapar visa (valid for 30 days) costs approximately USD 51, which was equivalent to KGS 4,516.55 or AED 195 at the time, based on my local bank’s conversion rate.

E-Visa Mishap: From E-Visa to Visa On Arrival in 2022

Back in May 2022, I applied for my Kyrgyzstan e-visa a bit too late, completely forgetting that the Eid holidays would delay processing. So naturally… my e-visa didn’t come out in time. At all.

Thankfully, Kyrgyzstan offers a Visa on Arrival at Manas International Airport, which saved my trip!

But what happened to that e-visa I paid for? Well, about a week after Eid, the system realized I was already in the country. I received this polite email: "Dear Rochelle Medrano, to apply for a visa, you must leave the country and inform us".

At that point, I didn’t need the e-visa anymore. Unfortunately, the fee was non-refundable. They told me they'd keep my information on file and that I could reapply using the same documents if I decided to return. I accepted it as part of my “travel investment.”

Fast forward to October 2022, I suddenly received this unexpected email: "Dear Rochelle Medrano, Congratulations. Your e-visa application is approved. You must print out your e-visa."

Approved Kyrgyzstan Tourist E-Visa

I was like... Wait what? I didn't initiate an application, and I wasn't even planning another trip. But guess what? That surprise approval nudged me to return to Kyrgyzstan a second time. And yes—I made the most of it.

Lesson learned: always consider holidays when applying, but also… sometimes travel has a funny way of calling you back. 😉

🛂 Kyrgyzstan E-Visa or Visa on Arrival?

Honestly, it’s up to you—but here’s what you should consider:

While the Visa on Arrival option at Manas International Airport is convenient, recent reports from travelers say it can take 1–2 hours to process. Why? There's only one desk processing the visa, so expect long queues with multiple tourists applying at the same time.

Also, keep in mind:
Visa on Arrival is only available at Manas Airport.
If you’re entering Kyrgyzstan by land from another country (like Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan), you must already have an approved e-visa—they don’t issue visas at land borders.

So if you want a smooth, queue-free arrival—or if you're coming in overland—the e-visa is the way to go.

  1. how much po ba yung oman visa? also I find the 30 usd in baku mahal, yun pala may mas mahal pa! >_< It comforts me someone I know naka punta na country na to and safe pala!

  2. Hi po, gano katagal before your flight ka nagapply ng evisa? Parang di kasi totoo yung 5 working days processing nila for me this year. So baka di rin ako umabot...

    Salamat!

    1. Hello po! Kelan po ba ang travel niyo? Actually nagapply po ako ng almost 5 days before my flight kaso Eid Holidays that time kaya di siya lumabas that time. And after the Eid Holidays po nasa Kyrgyzstan na ako kaya di na rin po nila inapply. I suggest you take the Visa on Arrival na lang po, you can read more about it from here po: https://www.pinayhakawati.com/kyrgyzstan-visa-on-arrival-philippine-passport/

Wishing you a great trip in advance! 🙂

  3. Hi~ thank you for the information. Approve na ung eVisa ko but suddenly, may nabago po sa sched ko. Ung validity ng eVisa is start ng March 6 but March 5 na ko makaka travel. Naisip ko nalang po kumuha ng VOA. Is it allowed po ba? Magkaron ng two visas? Sorry for my questions, no idea lang po kasi talaga. May idea po kayo pag ganitong case? Willing naman po magbayad again para sa VOA.

    1. Hello! Thank you so much for your comment! I believe that it's totally okay to get a VOA since di mo pa naman nagagamit yung E-Visa mo. However, correct me po if mali yung pagkakaintindi ko, yung March 6 po ba is expiry or start ng validity ng E-Visa mo? Sorry medyo confused lang. Pero if tama yung assumption ko na expiry siya (since may issued E-Visa) ka na, you can still use it on March 5 if I am not mistaken since validity lang siya to enter the country. Kyrgyzstan is also very accommodating when it comes to visas so I believe there's nothing to worry about! I hope you enjoy your trip! 🙂

  4. Hello, I appreciate your reply huhu~
March 6 po is start ng validity ng eVisa. Bale my eVisa is valid ng March 6 to April 5.
Since mapapa-aga ung punta ko ng Kyrgyzstan which is March 5, I will opt to get a VOA. But nag woworry ako na baka di pwede kumuha ng VOA because the next day is the validity of my eVisa.

    1. Ohhh I see, thank you so much for the clarification! I think you can still get a VOA, though I'm not 100% sure. But just in case, I suggest sending an email to the E-Visa System of KG to double check if this is okay, maybe they can also adjust the validity dates of your visa. They usually reply and accommodating talaga. But I still think that na pwede ka pa din makakuha ng VOA. Hope you get it sorted out! 🙏🏽

  5. Thank you so much sa reply, I was actually waiting for it. ☺️
Btw, yes, I sent an email to them na this morning but no reply yet maybe because its Sunday?
    But then, thank you. 🫶❤️

  6. I applied for a kryg evisa and i got rejected i donno why. I am trying to figure out what i did wrong to avoid when re applying, will you please help me. Coz when i asked their help whatsapp number they said the reason for refusal was not disclosed

How exactly should i write my name, should i write my first name in my given name space and the rest (father, grandfather and family name) in the last name space
Or should i write (first, father, and grandfather) in my given name space and the family name in my last name space ?

I am also travelling solo, not through any tour operators, do i still need to get an invitation letter ? I noticed that you can fill in the applicant's data and skip the invitation letter tab. They did not ask for an invitation letter when i applied and got rejected

When writing the application statement, i applied for a 2 months visa, should i write down i am asking for a 2 months visa starting from 1st of august till end of september ? Or should i write the intended date of arrival and departure ?

    1. Hello! I am so sorry for the late response and I can imagine your frustration about the rejection of the visa. Based on my experience at work, whenever we apply for something with long names, I follow this format - first, father, and grandfather in given name field and the family name in last name field. However, I highly doubt that this is the reason of your refusal. And no, you don't need any invitation letter even if you are a solo traveler. Did you share the name of the place where you will be staying though? Like the hotel name, address and their contact details? Also, yes please, always share the intended date of arrival and departure. I find your experience really unusual and disappointing of course, but I'm sure you'll get the approval too! Don't lose hope please!

  7. Hello po! Mag-ask lang po ako kung ano po yung ginawa niyo para dun sa inviting organization na kailangang fill-upan para sa e-visa application. May masusuggest po kayo na legit na tour agency or hotel for that? Thank you.
